This is the second night in a row I’ve had dreams I remembered when I woke up. In this one, I went to a small shop I could only get to via a long walkway. The shop looked like the sort that sells jewelry, only instead of jewelry in the display cases there was crispy slices of cooked bacon. I was apparently a regular at this shop, so, to show his appreciation, the shop owner gave me a single slice of bacon. I took it like it was a precious gift. I’m really not sure what brought this dream on. Anyway, switching gears, although I managed to write 3 posts in the past week I still have to write about 1 anime series, 2 books, 1 manga, and possibly 1 short story, so I’m still behind. My Hulu queue is going through another round of expirations, so I’m trying to finish up Spice & Wolf II (I highly recommend this series) and Soul Eater (Death the Kid is my favorite)

Let’s try it. One look at the elaborate packaging of the Razer Mamba made me raise a couple of eyebrows. It’s simply the fanciest packaging I’ve ever seen on any product. You have to see it in our gallery below to believe it, but suffice to say it’s like a jewelry display case where the mouse is put up on a pedestal for all to see. Thankfully, after removing one piece of tape it was easy to extricate the Mamba from its luxuriant confines. This mouse works in both wired and wireless modes, and it includes an attractive charging dock with backlighting encircling its base and illuminating its pairing button. The included mini USB cable plugs into either the dock or underneath the mouse, where it can be securely attached using a clever switch.

Sunday Shop Update: Painter’s Case to Jewelry Display
Ihope you’ve had a great weekend. As the craft fair draws nearer, I’ve shifted my focus from creating jewelry to creating displays. I want to share with you how I’ve outfitted B’s uncle’s painters case from the early 1960’s to a jewelry display. The rules for me using this sentimental item inluded no sanding, painting, drilling, decopauging, or doing anything that might permanently change the case. The case itself is beautiful, telling a story of a painter’s toolbox… I decided to cut fabric to fit the lining of the case and I adhered the fabric using a double sided hem tape which is more secure than normal double sided tape. This tape is also flexible enough to not rip into the wood. The cubby holes in the center are perfect for holding brooches, earrings, or hairpins. I’ll be spreading my items out among numerous vintage plates, but I definitely want to utilize this space. I’ll use the top portion of the painter’s case to hang some of my necklaces.

Jewelry shop owner severely beaten in home invasion
The 57-year-old owner of a Loop jewelry supply business was savagely beaten in a Wednesday night home invasion of his Sauganash residence, police said this morning. Two armed men stormed into the house on the 6300 block of North Kildare Avenue on the Northwest Side about 9:20 p.m. and bound Shai Miller with duct-tape before beating him, police said. They also tied up his 14-year-old son, who was not otherwise harmed. Miller was taken in critical condition to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston , where he was in intensive care with a brain hemorrhage early this morning. According to preliminary police reports the men fled with jewelry, silverware and a painting. Miller is the owner and president of Miller’s Jewelry Supply Inc., 5 S. Wabash Ave. on Jeweler’s Row, a company that supplies jewelers with display cases and jewelry making equipment, according to state records. News of the attack on one of their own rippled through Jeweler’s Row today.

Smashing failure: Two Honolulu men tried to kick, smash and shoot their way into a display case of jewelry. I often have strange dreams
Sometimes it was a small family, other times it was a whole herd of friends. Gatsby’s closed their doors for good around 1990. Which was probably a good thing, because Sherwin (one of the owners) was pushing close to 80 by then, I’m sure. So, back to my dream. I had dreamed I’d gone back to MA to help out in the store, and naturally, as can happen in a dream, the store looked exactly the same. I was at the register, which was at the front of the store right by the entrance which had display cases of jewelry and health & beauty products. Suddenly, a large groups of the owner’s friends came in and were all gathered around the front counter, making me feel like they were a mob closing in. Phyllis came out from the back office and they all scattered to go say hi to her, except for a couple of women who wanted to look at some Kiehl’s skin creams, which were a big hit with the ladies from “The City”. Phyllis, Sherwin and the group, except for the ladies I was helping, left for lunch and I was left to run the store.

(Video) Caught On Tape: Jewelry Store Heist, Robbers Shoot Owner
The two men barged into Studio Jewelry in Greenpoint Monday afternoon and one pulled a handgun from his waistband, the video shows. The second man then jumped over the glass display case while the gunman stood watch by the door. As the second suspect chased Richard Sanocki, 54, into the back of the store, the gunman also jumped over the counter and started removing jewelry from the display case, the video showed. Sanocki was off camera when he was shot once in the chest, cops said. The robbers then ran out of the store. They remain at large. David Sanocki said it appeared the thieves knew ��what they were going after.��

Two men charged in jewelry theft from JC Penney Topearl
Manteca CA Sept 20 2011 Two Manteca men were arrested on burglary and conspiracy charges in a jewelry theft from the J.C. Penney store shortly before 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Julio Baca, 45, of Manteca was arrested at the store, and Matthew Trout, 32, was arrested by officer John Machado as he drove northward beyond the Highway 120 Bypass in a black primered 1980s camper GMC pickup truck. Manteca Police officers allege that Baca forced his way into a jewelry display case by using a knife and took an item valued at over $100 and left the store. Trout �C who police say was his partner �C subsequently returned to the store to return the item in exchange for a Penney’s gift card alerting store security officers who called police. Baca was detained at the store and Trout was apprehended in a traffic stop on Union Road just north of the fire station.

Suspects Caught on Camera During Jewelry Store Robbery
Los Angeles: On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at 11 a.m., three male Black suspects entered a jewelry store located in the 3200 block of Wilshire Boulevard. One of the suspects held the security guard at gun point while the other two smashed the glass jewelry cases with a hammer. During the robbery, the suspects removed thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from the display cases. The suspects then ran out the back door. Outside the store, they encountered the parking lot security guard, a male Korean, who they bludgeoned in an attempt to escape. The suspects then tried to carjack a vehicle driven by a Korean woman but were unsuccessful. The suspects then carjacked a Korean man for his 2001 white GMC Savana van with a California License Plate 6T97736. A third vehicle, a green Toyota van was seen leaving the scene by the third suspect. The stolen green van was reported earlier to police and was found abandoned about one mile away from the jewelry store.
